Bernd Martens

Bernd has more than 27 years of experience in international insurance and risk advisory. As Commercial Director of Malakut Group, he leads global business development and works with international market and network partners.

His career began in 1999 and includes leadership roles at Willis, Marsh and Aon. From 2002 to 2007, he expanded Willis’s sales presence in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. He subsequently held several leadership positions at Marsh Germany, part of the international Marsh McLennan group, most recently as Member of the Board and Head of Cooperations. In that role, he built the bank and strategic-partner distribution business and managed relationships with banks, financing providers, law firms and consulting firms. He also contributed to business development, led the insurance work for Asian corporates in Germany, and headed the taskforce for major sales projects.

At Aon, within its global broking and advisory platform, he served as Chief Specialty Officer for the Specialty business and Chief Commercial Officer for Financial Institutions. Since 2023, he has served as Commercial Director of Malakut Group, shaping international growth initiatives and risk-transfer solutions.
