Dr. Wilhelm Steger

Wilhelm has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the automotive industry as well as the industrial and telecommunications sectors.

Wilhelm advises large international corporations on restructuring, performance improvement, and strategic realignment for profitable growth. He combines a consulting perspective with many years of hands-on leadership responsibility in global transformations and understands the expectations of owners, financing partners, customers, and employees.

His experience includes leading multibillion-dollar Tier 1 companies through both growth phases and crisis situations. These include global events such as the Lehman crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, international supply chain disruptions, regional conflicts with significant cost impacts, tariff and trade disputes, and Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States.

His focus is on liquidity management, sustainable performance improvement, and preserving entrepreneurial flexibility. At the same time, he places strong emphasis on safeguarding a company’s capacity for innovation and future competitiveness, even during demanding transformation phases.

Wilhelm is experienced in C-level negotiations with customers and suppliers as well as in dialogue with political decision-makers, works councils, and labor unions. He has played a leading role in M&A transactions and joint venture negotiations. His international leadership experience spans European, American, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Chinese, and Indian companies. He was also a member of Manufacturer Group 3 of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and served on the board of the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV) in Vienna.
