Dr. Michael Hönig

Michael has more than 50 years of experience advising primarily medium-sized companies, with a focus on corporate transactions, including more than 20 years as managing partner of a private equity firm.

Throughout his career as an attorney, Michael has primarily advised medium-sized companies across a broad spectrum of industries and service sectors on both legal and strategic matters. During his time in private equity, he was also responsible for more than 50 corporate transactions involving medium-sized companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland – on both the buy and sell sides – working with the respective management teams to develop transformation, growth and exit strategies and overseeing their implementation. His expertise also includes transaction financing and restructuring in special corporate situations.

As a member – and, in some cases, chairman – of supervisory and advisory boards, he has been and continues to be involved in a wide range of business decisions. Process optimization, meaningful reporting, sound strategic and financial planning and clear communication are his top priorities. Building on his broad experience, another focus of his work is managing corporate sales and coordinating the external consultants involved in these transactions.
